NATC Needs ASL Interpreters!

Hello Taiko Community!

TCA is looking for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to help with workshop and plenary session interpreting at this summer’s North American Taiko Conference in San Diego. If you are ASL-enabled, and are interested in helping with this endeavor, contact us at concierge@taikocommunityalliance.org. We’re doing our best to help make NATC accessible to all Taiko players, and we’d love to hear from you!

There has been a movement within the ASL community to make aural experiences more transparent to the deaf community, and we’d like to follow in suit.   The video below from VOX highlights an example of how sign language innovators are working to bring music to the deaf communities.Just as it is with other language interpretations, interpreters who are familiar with taiko can help translate a clearer message to attendees. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact us at concierge@taikocommunityalliance.org

Thank you in advance for the assistance!
